Description:
We are a 2 story, 4 room, brick schoolhouse built circa 1858. One room is set up as a classroom, one room as a museum with rotating displays, a 1930’s print shop, a display of the Rising Sun Sunners Softball Team (1975, 1977, 1979 National Champions. 1976 World Champions), and one room for research of local history and genealogy. We are also within walking distance of the Leesport Lock House, a lock tender’s house along the Schuylkill Navigation System Canal that is on the National Historic Registry. We are also only 4 miles from the Mid Atlantic Air Museum and the Berks Heritage Center which has the Gruber Wagon Works, the C. Howard Heister Canal Museum, and more.
