Description:

The Hellertown Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of Hellertown, Pennsylvania and its people. Visit the beautiful grounds to experience over 30 acres of Hellertown’s historical Heller-Wagner Grist Mill tract and its buildings. The grounds adjoin the Saucon Rail Trail and offer a welcome spot for relaxation, touring, and refreshment. Ponds, sport fields, picnic tables, and benches dot the grounds. Ample free parking is available. This is a destination not to be missed.

Visitors will enjoy a visit to the restored circa 1761 Heller-Wagner Grist Mill; the Grist Mill Museum which houses an eclectic mix of scenes depicting life in Hellertown’s earlier days; The Barn Museum which houses agricultural implements and skilled craftsmen tools; the circa 1700’s Wash House; the circa 1860 Walnut Street Pony Bridge, restored by Society in 2000; and the circa 1800’s Miller’s House which houses rotating displays and a Hospitality Room Gift Shop.

One of Hellertown’s treasures is the Society’s historical Tavern Room and adjoining Mill Room on the lower level of the Grist Mill. These are available for meetings, parties, luncheons, reunions, and other social gatherings for a nominal donation to the Society.
