Description:

The Emmaus Historical Society collects, preserves, and showcases Emmaus artifacts, documents, histories, photographs, and genealogy for displays, research, and educational programs and events throughout the year. The Society makes accessible the history of Emmaus, ensuring that historic preservation plays a role in our community.

The Society offers exceptional group tours for any group of 2 to 20 or more. With special exhibits and displays of thousands of objects, we are positive your experience will be new, exciting, and educational.

The Society is also proud to present the Third Grade Early History of Emmaus Project to school children to live in Emmaus. Created in 2017 in conjunction with the Emmaus Heritage Alliance, third graders in the East Penn School District will experience the early history of Emmaus through field trips to four historical sites in Emmaus. The program consists of a brief, classroom history/story of the beginnings of Emmaus along with an introduction to the four historical sites, the Shelter House, God’s Acre, the Knauss Homestead, and the 1803 House. Then the students will enjoy a visit to all four of the historical sites.

Emmaus Historical Society is family-friendly and welcomes children (of all ages) to visit to explore history!
